We were going to head to K-country, yesterday, but it was buried under a big ol' storm, so we headed for the Columbia Icefield, instead (
read about it here). The first hike of the season just
had to be the most strenuous one...

Man, my legs are so sore, it's a wonder I can even walk, this morning. It was a great trip, though, so I'm not complaining. If anything, I want to do it again. (Brain to body: "Release the endorphins! The Tree is moving again!

Quickly! Before she topples!"

)
Anyway, today is gray, with more rain in the forecast, and I for one am glad to be staying home. I have two physically demanding weeks ahead of me - I leave for Shari's place on Saturday - and I need to make sure my body is ready for them. The big hike we did yesterday was great, but that's not enough to prepare me for the physical work that's coming. I'm not complaining - not at all. Making sure my body will do what I want it to do is just good sense, is all. Anyone who's ever been in the home care industry who's done lift-and-transfer procedures knows that you just don't do it unless your body is ready for it.

I have to say I'm really looking forward to seeing Shari. I haven't seen her and Gram since Christmas of 2004, and I really miss them. The three of us had so much fun together (Shari, can I post that "General" picture? You looked so funny with that stupid veggie dog!

); I'm excited about having the opportunity to visit with them again. Oh, I know it's not a regular visit - I'm playing nursemaid for two weeks - but still...

Well, that's about all my brain can come up with. Have a great day and a great week, everyone, and thanks in advance for dropping by.
