It's a gorgeous day, today. The sun is shining warm and strong from a cloudless blue sky, and there's a fresh breeze washing through the apple trees that minimizes the intensity of the 24C heat. The house is nice and quiet, I'm enjoying the peace and using it to continue my recovery from the past couple of weeks, and I've even managed to get started on checking off the stuff on my To-Do list for our summer vacation. We'll be away from July 26 to August 17, and there's a lot of stuff to get ready; being able to start crossing things off the checklist is huge, because it means I'll have more time for sorting and packing so that we can just head out after we drop off the cats at their favorite boarding center.
I just got off the phone with Shari. She had her second surgery on Thursday, and she was released yesterday. She sounds really good, but understandably, she's already tired of having to go back, and she thinks she may just try to get the rest of the lesions cleaned out all at once. She's still on antibiotics, just as a precaution - she developed a fever after the first surgery and they had trouble getting it under control. So, they aren't taking any chances this time...
Gram goes to her transition housing on Monday - for sure, this time. She was supposed to be going this past Tuesday or Wednesday, but there were delays. However, this time, the arrangements are in place; Handy Dart will be coming to Shari's around nine in the morning on Monday to get Gram up and get her moved; the only problem is that there's no date on when she'll be able to go to her new, permanent residence.
Well, that's about it for now, I think. Tomorrow, Roger and I plan to get out of town for a much-needed break away from the city, and I can't wait. Catch ya later!
