I have two whole days to talk about "whatever"... Whatever will I talk about? Oh, I know! I'll talk about my friends...
Did you know
Shawn is struggling with the loss of someone he both loved and disliked intensely? It's true: Insabear, his former boyfriend, passed away this week, and poor Shawn has been going through an emotional grinder, trying to deal with it..
Our friend
Lady Wolfen Mists has been struggling silently and alone with issues she's been carrying. She seems to prefer keeping to herself when life is weighing her down, and when I read her recent post, I couldn't help feeling that she's actually reaching out to us for help.
Some of you may remember
MzTracy and her daily struggles with MS. Well, she has moved to a different blogging site. She doesn't come here anymore, from what I've seen, but I keep hoping she'll surprise me and drop by. She's the gal who made the awesome Holly Tree banner at the top of the page; she's also made some other gorgeous banners for this place, which I do use.
Our friend
Grizz also has an awesome new blog going - did I mention that, yet? He's put a lot of work into it, and it looks fantastic. He's been really busy, lately, so he doesn't get much time to post, but man, his place looks incredible. And Dee, who has her
Country Sass blog (
if you recall, she was known here on Bravenet as "Grumpy Ol' Gal"), has been very busy sharing spooky stories in honor of Fright Month, too. She's posted some really good ones, too; even I have been creeped out.
Another long-timer here on Bravenet -
AmandaMagick - used to post fairly often. But she seldom does that anymore. She used to have tons of people coming by, but these days, it seems that I'm the only one who visits her. I guess maybe that's why she doesn't post very often, anymore, which is sad.
It's the same thing with
Leah's blog. I remember when Leah always had lots of folks dropping by to visit her. Now, it seems like only a couple of people ever visit her, which is sad, because she's always got something interesting going on.
Does anyone remember
Dark Scriptor, also known as Jay, also known as Nick? He used to post all the time - and he used to have tons of people dropping by to visit him. Now, he posts once in a blue moon, and it seems like only I and one or two other people - maybe - go and visit him.
Then there's
Hazel, that beautiful Irish lass with the stunning voice and wonderful sense of humor that's never failed to make me laugh. Did you know she's been recovering from Swine Flu? She was offline for what seemed like months - and then, her router went out on her, and she had no internet for the longest time. Her brother stops by her blog on rare occasions, and so do I. But considering all the effort she's put into her place and her posts, it's a shame that only two people visit her.
I feel very blessed and very grateful for the folks who come by here to visit. Every time I get a notice that someone has commented, it makes my day that much brighter. I mean, we create online blogs because we're trying to be visible to the world, right? So, when people come by to visit, that goal is achieved, and in achieving the goal, the need we have at that moment - whatever that need may be - is being met. And in an age where communication is more often made via computers, the need to feel visible and of value is greater.
Anyway, I want to leave you all with something Roger and I thought was just hilarious. I hope it at least makes you smile. Have a great day and an awesome weekend, everyone!
