Well, Tim from Bravenet Support got back to me with the response that they were having trouble with the links earlier, that they were able to reproduce the issue, and that because they were able to reproduce the issue, it seems the problem with the links is coming from the Helium server, and not Bravenet's server or my ISP.
This is the error message I get when I click the Helium image-link:
ForbiddenYou don't have permission to access /users/546732 on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.3 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.3 OpenSSL/0.9.7a PHP/4.4.4 Server at www.helium.com Port 80I get the same error message when I click the Helium hyperlink above, except where the /users info is, I just get the backslash:
ForbiddenYou don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2.2.3 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.3 OpenSSL/0.9.7a PHP/4.4.4 Server at www.helium.com Port 80I just don't know what to do. Traffic to my page and my articles is a big part of what will help me earn. So, if the links aren't working, then I'm basically writing for free, and that is just not okay. It doesn't matter what image-link I embed or what hyperlink I use; if it's linking back to Helium, it doesn't work. I've tested all of the image-links they have, and I've tried all the options they offer for page linking. None of their links works here.
I'm truly baffled. The coding for the hyperlinks and image links is HTML, not BBCode, so it shouldn't matter what site they're being posted on. Most sites have options for both
HTML and BBCode. But no matter what I do, the links just won't work. And it doesn't matter which browser I use, either; I've tried both IE and Firefox, and the links don't work in either browser.
I've done everything possible. I've cleared my cache and cookies, I've even rebooted my computer. Nothing works. It's a Helium issue and that's that.
I will leave the hyperlink and image-link in place for the Helium support staff. I've contacted them and given them the link to this blog so they can test things out for themselves.
ADDENDUM: In reviewing the information on 403 Forbidden errors provided by
this info site, it seems that the Helium site is, indeed, the problem. Hopefully, they will resolve it!
